About Me

I spent the first decade of my life living in Colorado, where I spent my summers outside exploring the Rockies and winters skiing down the same slopes. Our yearly vacations to Yellowstone National Park were a welcome routine, instilling within me an appreciation for natural beauty that no other place has come close to surpassing. Eventually I was tasked with adapting to life as an Air Force brat, moving to Florida for a short time before spending several years in Germany.

My time in Europe was nothing short of phenomenal; I was fortunate enough to visit a total of 21 countries across the continent by the end of my stay, from the Cliffs of Moher in Ireland to the Acropolis in Greece. Standing in the center of countless historical sites and landmarks that were hundreds of years older than my own country was a very humbling experience. It led to a deeper appreciation and understanding of cultures and backgrounds far different from those I was used to. My stay would only last a little over three years, however, and I will forever mourn the exquisite European food I won't be eating on a daily basis...

After Germany, I graduated from high school in Oklahoma and moved back to Colorado for college. I began my computer science degree in 2020 at Colorado State University in Fort Collins. I excelled at adapting to the challenges brought on by the COVID-19 pandemic, spending my first year of college confined to my dorm room taking online classes. The subsequent years taught me how to properly design, test, implement, and deploy software solutions across numerous languages and technologies. I learned what it means to work in an Agile environment, and the inner workings of the Scrum framework. Although I'm certain there is much to learn from the computer science industry that can only be gained through experience, I am determined to use what I've learned in my degree to excel and understand what it means to be a professional Software Engineer.

I now live in Colorado with my fiancé, spending most days working on personal projects or enjoying the outdoors. You're likely to find me breaking personal speed records on a snowboard in winter and spring, camping among the golden aspen trees in autumn, and wishing for any other season with temperatures below 80°F in summer. I'm very happy to be back in Colorado where I can do all the things I love year-round, and I hope to stay here for the foreseeable future! (Although I am not opposed to moving onto another adventure in life's next chapter)
